Malham is very popular with walkers, and rightly so. In contrast to steep-sided Swaledale, Malhamdale is limestone country: open, sheep-cropped pasture contrasting with the iconic limestone landmarks of Malham Cove and Gordale Scar. About half of Britain's limestone pavements lie within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and one of the finest, and best-known, examples can be found on top of Malham Cove.

Pennine Wayfarers are particularly happy to see Malham Cove. After the rigours of Bleaklow and Black Hill, it means they have left the peat hags of the South Pennines behind

Our base for the workshops is Beck Hall, reached via an old clapper bridge across Malham Beck. The original 18th century building has been expanded over the years; your hosts, Simon and Alice Maufe, now have 17 rooms for guests, some with four-poster beds. Beck Hall is ideally placed to explore the limestone landscapes around Malham, as well as being very handily placed for the two pubs in this picturesque Dales village.

Prices for our two-night residential workshops at Beck Hall, based on full board, and single occupancy of a single or double room: £395 per person.
Price for shared accommodation available on request.
